Padaria Ribeiro

 In Portuguese and Spanish below

Padaria Ribeiro has already a century full of history and its popularity hasn't gone lost along the years. Placed in Praça Guilherme Gomes Fernandes, this small bakery is one of those you must try.

The pastries and cakes are its main attraction. Once you're in, you have the chance to taste homemade sweets that just got out of the oven and have extreme quality. At any time of the day you can buy freshly made warm bread.

Lanches are a house specialty, with ham, mortadella and cheese involved in a fluffy and soft mass, which are constantly being taken out of the oven and delighting the costumers.

If you're ever in Downtown Oporto, please don't forget to stop by Padaria Ribeiro, its high quality pastries will make you want to come back.

Verde Tília

 In Portuguese and Spanish below

João Paulo Jardim gave gis imprint to the decoration of Verde Tília, a modern tea room. This space was launched in 2010 in Alameda Eça de Queiroz, by theAntas area, escaping downtown's usual fuss.

The location combines with Verde Tília's spirit, which transmits peace and offers its costumers the oportunity to relax at the flavour of several teas. These are the main characters and they can be hot or cold, chosen from the french brand Le Palais de Thés.

Verde Tília is divided in two inner spaces and an outter esplanade. The décor, at the responsability of João Paulo Jardim, is another important aspect. On the inside, the bright colors relax us, colors like the light green from the walls or the tables' white. You can enjoy the exterior part all year because it is heated and you're able to request blankets in the cooler days.

Verde Tília is a space that lets us forget the city's bustle, therefore being ideal for a conversation among friends while drinking a nice infusion.

Casal Lounge

In february of 2010 was launched right in Avenida dos Aliados the Casal Louge Caffé. Located in the building of the old Totta & Azores Banc, an architectural masterpiece of particular beauty, the Casal Lounge Caffé has its very own concept: it's a coffee shop, restaurant, pastery and bar. So, you can go there to have a wonderful breakfast, an amazing lunch, a snack, or only for a drink with some friends listening to a DJ.

This Lounge Caffé stands out for its homemade ice creams with more than 30 flavors to choose from. Crepes, homemade cakes, pizzas, pastas and the great invention of cakes with queijo da serra.

The space is pleasant, large, and its highlights are the leather couches, the walls covered with images of several european cities and a seventeenth-century chandelier. This coffee shop also presents an esplanade with Oporto's City Council and Intercontinental Hotel as a background, even if in opposite sides.

The Casal Lounge Caffé is definitely a place to visit, anytime, because it has the right options for each time of the day.

Low-Costa.Come

The first low cost bakery in Oporto opened up in January in broad Avenida dos Aliados. The name says it all: Low-Costa.Come, which is referred to the concept of food at low prices.

The prices couldn’t be more attractive: a cup of coffee costs 0.40€, a piece of cake is 0.50€ and a francesinha menu costs less than 4.00€. Low-Costa.Come has a wide variety of products and a pleasant space, allowing you to eat your meal right there.

In a time of crisis, this bakery couldn’t be more successful. The tables are almost always full and the payment line increases by the minute in certain moments of the day.

Besides the great location, at the top of Avenida dos Aliados, a touristic landmark of our city, Low-Costa.Come provides its clients the opportunity to eat a nice meal in a quiet and modern environment.

Within this context there are already five Low-Costa.Come bakeries in Portugal and it’s expected that this project will be extended overseas.

If you’re looking for a place for lunch or a snack without emptying your wallet, take a look at Low-Costa.Come and let yourself be delighted by its anti-crisis features.
